New Feature: Add a new task to multiple projects

So you have tons of projects and realize that you now want your team to track a new task that applies to all of the projects. Before today you had to add this task to each project. We have simplified this process to one step.  Now when you create a task for a project you can choose to add the task to one or more other active projects. You can choose specific projects or select all of them with a single click.

Give it a try today!  Here is how easy it is to add a new task to multiple projects.

Enter a project and select Add Task.  Enter the task information and select Yes for Copy Task to Other Projects. Check all the projects you want to copy the task to then select Add Task.

New Feature: Customize Days of Week

WeWorked always required a set work week that started on Sunday and ran through Saturday. We believed that the majority of our customers followed a standard work week schedule. However, the time has come where our customer base has spread all over the world and has thus outgrown what is typical. And for this reason we are proud to announce that you can now customize your weeks to begin on any day of the week.

This feature was once reserved only for our Enterprise customers, but we felt even our smallest customers would benefit from the ability to change which day started the week.

Administrators can go to Settings then edit Company. You will see the option to change Start of Week near the bottom of the screen.

Enhancement to Timesheet Timer

We made some major improvements to the daily timer.

How it worked before
Previously the timer required you to keep the timer window open. Closing the window would stop the timer. You also could only run a single timer at a time.

How it works now
Today you can start a timer or multiple timers for tasks. You can close the browser and come back later and the timer will keep running. The timer windows will no longer get in your way. You will no that a task has a timer running by the animated bouncing ball.

Give the new timer a try, and let us know what you think. Enjoy!

New Feature: Time Format Entry

Quite a few people wanted to be able to enter time using what we call time format (1:35). So we added a feature that will allow you to enter time format (4:45) and WeWorked will automatically convert it to decimal format (4.75). This feature is only available on the web. We hope this makes it easier for you to complete your timesheet.

New Feature: Adjust Leave Balances

Before today, setting default leave balances and making adjustments to leave balances was a somewhat difficult process. You had to complete and email us a template of the changes so we could make the update on the backend. It was a painful process for us, and I am sure the same for some of you.

Well this is no longer true. We have simplified setting default leave balances and adjusting leave balances. You now have complete control. You no longer need to complete a template or send us information. Just like leave accruals, manual changes to leave are capture in the leave history record. When you view the leave history you will see when the change was made and who made it.

Simply go to Settings then Leave then click on Adjust Leave Balances under the Leave Balances section. You will then see a list of all the people that have Track Leave enabled in their profile. Click Edit to start making changes to a person’s leave balance.

New Feature: Change Date Formats

Starting today you can pick the date format of your choice. All the dates in WeWorked will display based on the setting you choose. This is a company-wide setting, so everyone on your account will see dates the same. Because we display dates in short and long format in WeWorked, we bundled the format selection so you can make them all have similar styles. And yes, the date formats you select will even display on the WeWorked for the iPhone, reports and invoices.

The date formats you saw before are the default. To make a change, go to Settings then click Edit in your company profile. You can change the date format setting near the bottom.

New Feature: WeWorked Account Center

Today we made it easier for you to administer your WeWorked account. No more having to log into PayPal to see what plan you signed up for. We added a central area we call the Account Center that is only accessible to administrators. In the Account Center you will find information about your plan, including the name, price, next billing date, and number of users.

Administrators will notice two new links in the upper right corner of the screen:

  • Account – takes you to the Account Center
  • Upgrades – takes you to an overview of our plan upgrades. And, yes, we now offer plans up to 500 users.

Changing your plan
New customers will no longer be able to upgrade using a PayPal account. Existing subscriptions are not impacted and do not require a change. Everything will just keep on working as before. However, future changes to accounts will be processed securely within WeWorked. No need to maintain a PayPal account. Upgrading and downgrading is all done with a few clicks. You can even change your monthly subscription to an annual subscription with a few clicks.

There is also no need to email us should you wish to cancel your account. Administrators can cancel an account from within the Account Center. Canceling is just as easy as upgrading.

Mobile Time Tracking

mobile time tracking

We are really excited to announce WeWorked Mobile. WeWorked Mobile is our first mobile timesheet application and is designed from the ground up to make time tracking easy from any touchscreen mobile device.

WeWorked Mobile is an HTML5 application, which means that it works on the majority of touchscreen smartphones, such as an iPhone, Android, and Windows Mobile. After serious debate as to the best approach to a mobile application, we decided that we would offer a solution that works for the majority of our customers, rather than a small group.

Visit https://www.weworked.com/mobile from your mobile device’s web browser, such as Safari or Google Chrome. Tip: Save the bookmark and the WeWorked icon will be placed on your phone’s desktop.

WeWorked Mobile is super quick on either a cellular or wifi connection. We decided not to bloat the application with a bunch of unused features, so you can do just what you need for now. We will be adding more features as we learn more about how you are using it and how you would like to use it.

Below are the current features:

  • View your timesheet
  • Edit your timesheet
  • Add a task to your timesheet
  • Remove a task from your timesheet
  • Submit your timesheet

Visit https://www.weworked.com/mobile from your smartphone to give it a try now.

New Timesheet and Invoice Filters

Tracking time is great, but equally as important is the ability to retrieve timesheet data in an easy and meaningful way. Starting today, you can generate reports using three new filters – Time Status, Task Status, and Show Zeros.

report invoice filters

  1. Time Status allows you to return approved, not approved, or all time.
  2. Task Status allows you to return billable, non-billable, or all time.
  3. Show Zeros allows you to return rows that include or exclude rows that have zero hours.

All of three filters can be used to generate reports as well as invoices. I am sure you can figure out some creative ways to leverage these new filters in your organization.

Generate some new reports today.
